Happy Birthday Lil Orchid !!!

This morning was unbelievable, by this morning I mean Midnight.

I woke with my daughter rustling around with a sleeping little girl in her arms telling me to wake and get to the center of the house. Tornado !

I have never been so scared, I mean being in the Midwest we are used to it..

I have even stood on the front porch before watching a funnel in the distant corn field,

but that didn't compare to the colors in the sky, the sound and the feeling that our house was breathing, (our ceiling tiles were moving up and down) Scared the be-ge-be's out of me!

Through all that, we only had our lights flicker and tree limbs down. Thank You God!

Now to wake a tired little girl who didn't realize

she slept part of her birthday in the bathroom.

So Happy 5th Birthday Lil Orchid and

Happy 55th Birthday to her Great Aunt Kim.

My daughter and I could not believe it...

we've been to alot of stores, we love to browse..

Lil Orchid found the perfect card for Uncle Nathan

for St Pat's Day - she wanted to send it right away.

But what we did not expect was to find

the PERFECT Birthday card for Lil Orchid.

A purple card with a giant Pink "5" and

standing around it was, who else but,

Rapunzel..Yep can you believe it,

and the best part, it is one of those musical cards,

singing what is the perfect Rapunzel song...

....just read the words...

"I am here, suddenly I see

Standing here it's all so clear

Where I'm meant to be !"

And that's exactly where our Lil Orchid shoud be...

RIGHT HERE WITH US !!!

Birthday Party for Lil Orchid

Alot of Work - all Made with Love - ALL WORTH IT !

Lil Orchid wakes at 4:30 AM (not a good start for me) She is so- so EXCITED !!

Tried everything to get her to lay down and rest - at my age I needed it!

Her MomMom, Uncle Nathan & I all left before noon to watch her Cheer at her basketball game.

Then after that we were off to decorate at the Three Tigers Martial Arts bldg for her B-day Party..

a little after 3pm, guests were arriving. Lil Orchid was so excited as she welcomed each guest .

They received instruction in Karate (the kids were so intense & loved it) then a group photo, eating cake, (she got to cut the cake with help and a great big Samurai Sword) opening presents, playing games. An Exhausted Lil Orchid handed out Treat Bags & Chocolate Bars as a great big thank you to everyone there.

Next we were taken out to dinner at a local restaurant and finally dragged ourselves in the door around 8:34pm "BEDTIME" !!!! What a Long & Wonderful Day !!!

Getting ready for a Party...

Lil Orchid will be celebrating her 5th Birthday soon and her Birthday Party is this saturday.

My daughter has made some really cute candy bar and water bottle labels. And some sweet gift bags for all her little friends. We won a Party room so we are excited for the extra space and the fact that they clean up and do some games with the kids. We are celebrating mainly with who else, but Rupunzel !!!!! I finished her Birthday outfit (found some adoreable Rupunzel fabric) and my daughter made her the cutest Hair Bows "This Princess is 5".

So first thing is Basket ball cheer leading,

then her Birthday Party...what a full day.

And her biggest surprise is Uncle Nathan

will drive home to be with her ;)

-a weekend with family!

Happy Valentines Day

Woke up this morning to a soft little voice whispering "Happy ValentinesDay" then a precious little peck on the cheek. Everyone dressed in pinks & reds, and the rest of the day was constant well wishing for Valentines day. A call from my son and a "I love you Mom" , then talked to my Mom and chatted a while. But the best part was having those tiny little arms wrapped around my neck telling me she loved her Grandma.

Thought I'd add a first Valentines Day and present Valentines Day photo of little Orchid along with an old photo of my two kids several years ago when it snowed on Valentines Day(my son is now 25 yrs old).

Just love my own little Cupid!

Through the eyes of a child...

Well, as everyone has experienced this winter...snow...lots of snow...layered in ice...lots of ice...then some more snow...plastered in ice and again smothered in SNOW.

I think I have the Winter Blah's & Blues.

Could be why my Lil Orchid drew a picture of her MamMaw (me) with stress lines on her forehead ;( and for those who don't know I wear glasses and do have a full head of hair.

By the way I'm eating a bowl of soup.

Hello Ground Hog Day - Thanks Phil for the GREAT News!

Early Spring and we are ready and waiting for it here!

Ice Ice Baby

Well, the mid west is under an Alert, we woke up to sleet & ice and under seige for the moving blizzard coming in by noon. It is still icing so I wonder if the photos will be different later.

We are tucked in ....my daughter making Korker Bows, Lil Orchid playing with her Rupunzel figuines, while sitting at her Rupunzel table, drinking from her Rupunzel cup, and wearing her Rupunzel dress & wig ;) (thanks to every ones Christmas gifts).

I am or will be adding some Valentines & Easter items to my Etsy Store.
