They are not attached so they could be used on headbands, kufi hats, chokers or placed on a ladies brimmed hat.

Garden Fresh

Working indoors due to the extreme Midwest Heat, but the grass needed mowed too because of the flash floods and thunderstorms.

Picked a handful of veggies

from the garden,

and my daughter cooked

a stuffed zucchini for us

this afternoon. M-m-m-m-m

But my granddaughter had planned a different menu for me...

callie-mari as she pronounces it ;) with noodles. M-m-m-m?

Kingdom Playground Fun

Wanted to try and get out before the extreme heat hit again this morning and go to this new little water park. Which of course, the way my Luck has being going, was closed. So we decided to spend sometime on the enormous playground next to it. The castle was perfect since Lil Orchid is so into Fairy Tales and stories, lately it's been Rapunzel, but the thinker she is has her asking, "Doesn't it hurt when he climbs up her ponytail?"

As we headed out for a relaxing Cards game it began to sprinkle. As we drove on it turned into a flash flood alert...got detoured twice, then the interstate was flooded...didn't even cross the Mississippi into MO. So we watched the rain delay game on TV :(

Lil Orchid finished up the summer league t-ball this morning. She was so determined and focused, and quite excited when she got her trophy!

Things to do in the Summer

Start out going to the park with your friend,

eating some great ice cream,

then maybe taking care of your garden,

dancing in the front yard

or pretending to be

a princess,

or the statue of liberty

then noticing

your shadow looks like the sunshine

or playing with the Best Uncle Ever!

Strange Folk Festival

Trying to get everything in order, booking more shows for the fall...making sure we return to the ones we really liked and finding a few new ones.

But I'm getting worried, my my daughter says I shouldn't worry, but I have to say

the show I love doing, the show that I get the most return clients has some new guidelines.

Will they think I qualify ENOUGH..I hope so. So I am waiting to hear from them

The Strange Folk Festival may have a funny little name...but is a GREAT place to discover a multitude of amazing artist and their creations, it is set up so you can take a break and relax--eat some food or just listen to the music, they even cater to the children so you can relax even more.

And the best part is they are GREEN, their focus is our environment without getting all clinical.

This is why I LOVE it..we are a good fit, our upcycling & recycling designs and our other handmade creations are showcased and it doesn't cost you admission. Just take a walk in the park and ENJOY!!!!

Lil Orchid plays soccor & t-ball in this park,

we have had picnics in this park.

Worlds Largest Catsup Bottle

Would you like to meet the "2010 Princess Tomato"...

yes, this PROUD Grandma is bursting...

It was "Brooks Largest Catsup Bottle" Festival in Collinsville IL

A historic site along Rt 66...and a really cool landmark

(a big water tower)I've seen since I was little!

Today, 3-6 yr olds compete for the title of Sir Catsup

or Princess Tomato...
there were three 4yr olds and a 5 yr old competing for the title,

not a lot of girls but there were some real cuties...

Everyone did a talent and was asked a couple questions.

But MY Lil Orchid..WOWED the audience & judges

with her sweet & bubbly personality,

then Blew them away with her acapella rendition of "God Bless America"

and when asked what she does for fun?

Her reply "I Love to play baseball and watch the Cardinals"

You can tell she was really in it for the CATSUP!

And there were Lots of things to do...

pony rides, car show, food & games.

When we were done we picked up Uncle Nathan

at the airport , then he was off driving back to OH.

We are ALL going to be EXHAUSTED tonight!
