Death...?

Lil Orchid and I both had P/T this morning...still waiting for some good news and the day that my leg/knee quits hurting :(

The day did not get any better...
We just heard at 55 yrs my ex and the father of my two wonderful children passed away this evening. His wishes were no burial, and no memorial. That's it-where do they grieve.
Mixed feelings...I'll say! Two confused kids, definately.
Focus on the good side... my first love, the man who helped give me the two most precious gifts I have ever received...my daughter, my son, I am blessed to be their mother.
I'll stop there, and hope that soon the hurt in my childrens eyes will soon fade away!

Easy Going Sunday..

Today, was kind of a quiet day, beautiful weather...even though it is heating up a little to fast. But we had fun scouting out some yard sales, not alot found.

Lil Orchid got to play a while with her new shoo shoo hula hoop....not bad hip action for someone who learned from watching a group in the park. (no way is this MamMaw gonna throw her back or hip out to teach her)lol

Friday nite Baseball

Go Cardinals!

We got some tickets to tonight's Cardinals vs LA Angels game even though they weren't the only Angels in the stadium ...so was my angel, Lil Orchid.

She got to dance with Fred Bird, got a HOF Bob Gibson statute for Uncle Nathan and then got autographs from former Cardinal, Brian Jordan. What a full evening! And let's not forget the Grand Slam & Home Run Fireworks which went off right above our heads!!!!!

Thursday, was the last day of school

and naturally it was raining....

alot nicer when it was time to pick her up.....

Driving Home....

Monday morning, light rain and Nathan already off to work....

we got repacked..sort of...and headed out of state and back home.

Ran into alot of rain, of course, but made it home in good time.

Maifest in Covington, KY

Well, it is the last day, day three of the Maifest...

had good weather up til now....RAIN!

Everything is wet...the grass,the sidewalks, the Tent!, the people, especially US!

Nothing worse than taking down a tent and packing in a rain storm (I'm talking to the campers and other vendors out there)YUCK

But the GOOD things were the great weather, the super nice people (customers), and our own health (Was able to rest alot and stay off my leg, thanks to my children and their help) It was incredible long hours but we made a cot for Lil Orchid and she rested, napped and slept which made a very happy & sociable Lil Orchid. The hours were Open at Noon and close at 11:30 pm but they always kept things open later because the crowds were there!

We heard and saw their famous Clock Tower, the Little Goose Girl Fountain, and enjoyed the antics of the street Magician, the Banana Booth and new friendships of our fellow vendors.

"Winged Wonders" had alot of BEAUTIFUL framed

It was fun because the Cards were in town across the river and we saw and sold some STL Cards items also.

Maifest....a German Festival!

Exhausted.....

really exhausted...

but we are packed and on our way!

Have worked long and hard for enough things to sell, and when we arrive we will set up the tent and get ready for the crowd and opening tomorrow! Wish us luck. We are staying with Nathan while in town otherwise we wouldn't have attempted such an endeavor this far away.

who just received her Degree in Nursing,

Lil Orchid had fun with relatives

and Great Great & YeYe.

She especially enjoyed

eating the chocolate covered strawberries!

Sunday of course was Mothers Day and we went out to eat at Han's Buffet and as a special touch presented each Mother a painted wooden fan...

We also enjoyed later in the week Lil Orchids end of the year School Program...

Another 1st for Lil Orchid...

Okay, maybe its not important to you but in our family it is fun!

My son came in to town for a Cards game (of course, they won) and then Sunday before going back we all went to a Sports card show.Yes, they got an autograph from a former Cardinal and their photos taken with him. Then later we had to say Good Bye ;(
