Busy day at the fair and National Tom Sawyer Days...

Got hit by some thunderstorms...Bad Memories!

But otherwise we faired well and the crowds came out.

I took Lil Orchid down the hill for some Tom Sawyer Day FUN!!

First there was the tricycle race...

next she competed in the frog jumping contest,

it was too hot for the frog because he just kinda belly crawled,

and jumped 2 ft 7 inches. Not a Winner ;)

Humidity 105

Arrived in town mid morning.

Setting up for the Fair in the unbearable Heat.

Will probably finish in the early morn.

Heading back to the hotel to cool down.

it seems they can call and leave a message
that less than 12 hours
before you arrive to your destination...

you do NOT have a hotel room,

NO ROOM, THEY HAVE OUR MONEY !!!
We have never used them before,
AND WILL NEVER TRY THEM AGAIN.
So Beware !!!!! HOTWIRE stinks.

2nd day of Spring Fling

Not much better today...

no crowds, couldn't even say

there was groups...

maybe a few couples & families

would wander in...to Look!

Todays word was "advertising"...

yes they advertised everywhere...

lots of advertising....???

Funny, cause as we drove in

from the west on Hwy 50

there wasn't even a yard

sign and we turned toward the bldg

only a few blks away.But I can

tell you when in July is their Homecoming.

Lil Orchid by the way...

dazzled the customers and other vendors

while she sat there and played (wooden blocks),

colored (crayon wraps)

and walked around (tutu, kufi hat, & flower clip)

Spring Fling Arts & Craft Show in Lebanon

Well, we mustered enough items and washed & ironed enough clothes to make it to The CRaft Show this weekend. Exhausted we continued to re-label our items as the show began. Of course, Lil Orchid was an angel and drew attention, but the people and sales just isn't there....
Let's hope all this work and tireless sleep will show a bigger crowd tomorrow!!!!!
We paid for 2 - 10x10 spaces and verified it twice on the phone and our application.
Typo's is a word that is flying around here this week end...
we got 2 - 9x6 spaces :9

Bible School

A great adventure for Lil Orchid..

she gets to go to Bible School this week.

She Loves it!

While her MomMom & I wash, dry, scrub,

wash, iron, make new tags, make new signs,

wash more cloths, make new hairbows,

continue to dig through boxes, still look

for missing items, wash more clothes, repair things,

wash more clothes, iron and get ready

for the next show this weekend.

Glad our Stress is hidden from Lil Orchid.

Father's Day & Kitty Kitty's B-Day

Lil Orchid was so excited to call YeYe with me...

phone was busy all day...all 8 tries.

So we celebrated Kitty Kitty's (stuffed)4th b-day

with a picnic just like she wanted.

Although she let everyone know that I couldn't

sit on the blanket like you are suppose to in a real

picnic.

We finally got through to YeYe and she sang

"God Bless America" to YeYe as a gift.

He always tells her it is his favorite ;)

so she wanted to make him happy.

Worked on drying things out AGAIN!

and she played in the wading pool.

Fulton Missouri and the Berlin Wall

While in Fulton we wanted to see the piece of Berlin Wall,

(8 four foot sections each selling for $60-$200 thousand a pc)

I can't think how old the kids were when I took them before?

Lil Orchid enjoyed the Wall & Church and the history story...

I told her that a long time ago there were people

who didn't like each other so they built a wall, it was there for a long time.

Finally their kids said Hey, I don't know why I'm suppose to hate

these people, and with their good hearts tore the wall down.

And that was a good thing! (What else can you tell a 5 yr old)

It was 20 yrs in 2009 that the Wall fell.

1989...WOW

My kids were born in 1976 & 1985

Now that's history to remember!

and drive to Dayton..
we also wanted for Lil Orchid
to receive two (2) more Jr Park Ranger Badges.

It was so interesting, enjoyable,
and most of all we were ALL TOGETHER.

Hint: Don't ever tell Uncle N that
you are tired of walking.
