With Shows approaching I knew I needed some new inventory.

The chill is coming fast in the air, getting us ready for three

wicked snow storms heading our way.

For the smaller crowds today, we still did better than most,

I'm thinking it's because we were the only HANDMADE

Childrens clothing booth. (others were factory tutu's, etc)

Happy Birthday Baby Girl

Flashback to 1976

Yes, I said Happy Birthday Baby Girl, today is my daughters birthday.
What can I give her that could ever be greater than what she already has, Lil Orchid.
But we will try - a Carvel Snickers Ice Cream Cake! Her favorite!

Today was the first day of the Expo,

we could always wish for a bigger crowd

but we are happy with the day.

My sister stopped by and brought her a birthday cake.

Lil Orchid had fun playing some games

and found the cardboard cut outs a hoot.

Met some new customers, check out 2 month old Isis.

bounce houses, karaoke, cookie decorating, games, Wii and much more.

Lil Orchid wrote in the snow as we packed the Van.

Getting ready for her Mom Mom's birthday tomorrow.

A Day of Sadness...

My daughter just received a call that her grandmother on her fathers side had passed away in the night. Even though she was 86 yrs of age it was still unexpected. My son, daughter & granddaughter had just visited her after Christmas this year. That side of the family was so different than my family who openly always showed love, in words, in thoughts and actions..hugs and kisses were no stranger. But no matter how hard they made it my children never faltered in honest family love for them. My heart is so heavy for my children, and like most parents you want to take the pain away.

Midwest Snow...

Midwest snow hit us hard and had us wake in a very deep blanket of snow. We received a little over 12 inches of the fluffy white stuff. Made for some beautiful photo's and Lil Orchid just loved making snow angels.

Cardinal Winter Warm Up

We were all getting giddy waiting for the weekend to arrive...because the Winter Warm Up was starting but especially because my son was coming home for the event. He bought us the tickets for part of our Christmas gifts and this meant another reason to spend time together.

My son is great at planning these events for us, he figures who is in what line at what time.

Our success at this three day event brought us 283 autographs of past, present and a few future Cardinals. Just to give you a heads up, we did not pay for the enormous amounts the Cards put on popular Cardinal players (ie:$175. for Pujols) nine tenths of our autographs were free or a few for $5. Lil Orchid was in Baseball Heaven for the interaction she got with FredBird and getting high lighted on the big screen

We met the player who hit the Last RBI for the STL Browns.

We met a lot of All Stars and players from several World Series Wins.

We have Bats, Baseballs, Baseball cards, 8x10's and Cardinal signs all autographed .

What a memorable Weekend!

Baby it's So-o-o-o Cold Outside

Well, the snow finally hit, and now the bitter wind is blowing.

Didn't get as much as the predicted, I think it went more north.

But since Lil Orchid didn't have school

while we cleaned the walks and the car

she played on the little hill by the evergreens.

She was sliding good, maybe it was the combination

of snow & evergreen needles LOL

A Wintery weekend

The tree is down, the ornaments are packed up.

For the holidays I have always put

photos across the mantle so during the winter

I put up snow photos of the family, my siblings,

from childhood thru today doing winter activities.

Ahh the Memories!

It started to snow again,

so that was nice especially

since the rain washed away the Christmas snow.

Lil Orchid loves to try and catch the flakes,

if we could only get her to keep her eyes open.

Basketball cheer season started this week...this photo is an example

of the childrens X sm size uniform we ordered for her.

I'm not sure what we'll do, looks more like halloween LOL.

Snug as a bug in a rug...

This story comes from the fact that Lil Orchids Mom got a Snuggle Blanket for Christmas...

she loves to snuggle and sits on her Mom's lap, except she says she is trapped under the blanket. She asked if we could make two more arm holes in Mom's snuggle so she can move around too.

Needless to say that was one project I didn't want to tackle so we found a child size snuggle and now she is warm and Happy!
